UO2-MB/UFB Stainless Steel and PVC generators – High-speed Rotation System

Brief explanation how the UO2-SS and PVC MB/UFB generators work:

The water is pushed from the outer shell chamber into the gas-liquid generating chamber via holes in the top of the inner chamber that forces the water to spin inside the gas-liquid generation chamber (first vortex) downwards. The floor of the chamber pushes the water up creating a second vortex upwards and pushing the water out of the hole in the chamber ceiling.

The high velocity creates a negative-pressure cavity portion at the bottom of the inner chamber floor, naturally sucking in the air via the air supply line.

Micro and Ultrafine bubbles are created due to the shearing action of the swirling flow generated by the water squirted into the gas-liquid generating chamber.

Brief explanation how the UO2-VIPER MB/UFB generator works:

The UO2-VIPER MB/UFB generator is NOT A VENTURI and was designed to be used to complement the UO2-SS-1N or the UO2-PVC-1N MB/UFB generators, after discovering that surplus pressure energy from the motive fluid were available. This additional energy was used to design a solution able to multitask like no other aeration solution in the world.

Combining the functions of an ejector, injector, jet pump, vacuum generator, and venturi, enabled the UO2-Viper to generate micro- and ultrafine bubbles, to add a gas in a liquid, to add a liquid to a liquid, to use cavitation to assist with disinfection, and to improve the quality of mixing in of nutrients in water.

In short, water flows into the UO2-Viper at a higher pressure than that at which it exits. This pressure difference creates a vacuum at the suction port on the side of the device. This sucks air, oxygen, ozone, or liquid into the main water stream. So, the greater the difference in pressure, the greater the vacuum and, with that, the greater the efficiency of mixing.

What makes the UO2-Viper unique is that in venturis gas and liquid are pulled, via a hole unevenly, into a single mixing vortex, where in the Viper’s case, the gas or liquid are received by a large suction chamber and feeds this evenly via the perimeter of the entrance hole of the diffuser that leads through to the diverging cone.

In the UO2-VIPER the static pressures in the suction, and mixing zone chambers, can be  decreases below the vapour pressure by as much as -90 kPa at a constant flow of water by reducing the air flow to the suction chamber, allowing water to evaporate in the formation of bubbles (Vapor bubble grows at low pressure). It collapses within milliseconds again in a spectacular physical event as it is transported with the flow from where it was formed at low pressure to areas with higher pressure. The bubble will stop growing when local pressure exceeds vapor pressure and because liquid water occupied many thousand times less volume than vapor the bubble implodes.

Also known as cavitation, the water is forced to become water vapor by physical creation of micro vacuums “bubbles” under water. These “bubbles” are made of water vapor only. No air or gasses are involved. These “bubbles” fully collapse to again form liquid water. The jet velocity can reach up to hundreds of m/s.

It must be noted that cavitation on its own, DO NOT INCREASE DO LEVELS in water. However, due to the ability to create a negative pressure up to -90 kPa in the suction chamber, the UO2-Viper MB/UFB generator, can raise DO levels and use Cavitation at the same time in water with a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.

In general, cavitation is one of the elements of an integrated treatment system, consisting of physical, chemical, and biological processes.

The effects of cavitation have become very useful in supporting chemical processes in the environmental protection technologies, especially in technologies related to the decomposition of substances particularly harmful to humans and his immediate surroundings.

Benefits expected: Improves coagulation and flocculation, drops zeta potential, increase oxidation potential that helps to remove bacteria and parasites, rapture their cell walls, and then kills them by oxidation. It increases the biodegradability of organic compounds in polluted water. Exhibit bactericidal activity during water treatment. Decrease the amount of persistent organic pollutants in wastewater treatment plant effluent. Biological disinfection of water. Destructive effect on yeast, bacteria and even viruses. The combination of cavitation and H2O2 for example, gives a higher reduction in suspended TOC values of tannery wastewater than only using H2O2.

Conclusion:

Oxygen is a necessary element to all forms of life. The level of dissolved oxygen (DO) is one of the best indicators of overall water quality.

The dissolution of oxygen into the water is maximized with the injection of UO2 micro- and ultrafine bubbles. This is because small bubbles present a greater relative surface area to the surrounding water than larger bubbles. Oxygen diffuses into the water at the surface, so a large surface area facilitates greater oxygen absorption.

Knowing that the oxygen transfer efficiency decreased as the water jet velocity increases, and that the energy needed to increase the jet velocity, the focus on highest oxygen transfer efficiency were compromised in the design to incorporate the practical elements and to achieve the best of all worlds into one.

UO2-MB/UFB generators are the best priced, most cost-effective, sustainable, robust, easy to use, and most environmentally friendly way in the world, to create bubbles smaller than 100 microns.

On top of this, being able to also use the new advanced technology of hydrodynamic cavitation in environmental engineering, allows Ultra-Oxygen to provide solutions in processes greatly effective during water and effluent treatment.

Hydrodynamic cavitation is a nonwasted technology and environmentally friendly due to the possibility of degradation of low biodegradable, hazardous and carcinogenic organic compounds, which are resistant to conventional disposal methods.

Examples include pesticides, dyes, or high molecular organic compounds, which in the cavitating liquid environment become susceptible to biodegradation.

Ultra-Oxygen believes that MB/UFB and hydrodynamic cavitation is the most energy efficient technique in the world in any AOP or water treatment process.

It can diminish recently necessary use of expensive chemical reagents for advanced treatment process. These chemicals create additional problems when deposited into environment.

Finally, as nowadays a lot of attention is put upon micro pollutants such as endocrine disrupting compounds, chemicals that can interfere with endocrine (or hormonal) systems. Endocrine systems are found in most varieties of animals. The endocrine system consists of glands that secrete hormones, and receptors that detect and react to the hormones.

Studies in cells and laboratory animals have shown that EDCs can cause adverse biological effects in animals, and low-level exposures may also cause similar effects in human beings. EDCs in the environment may also be related to reproductive and infertility problems in wildlife and bans and restrictions on their use has been associated with a reduction in health problems and the recovery of some wildlife populations. Aquatic life subjected to endocrine disruptors in an urban effluent have experienced decreased levels of serotonin and increased feminization.

UO2-PLus O2 Option

Ultra-Oxygen Plus O2 Option

The UO2+O2 solution is an EXTRA OVER OPTION should you wish to supersaturate water. Without this option, you can only obtain +-80% saturation (7.9mg/L).

BREAKING NEWSIt is now possible to increase the saturation level in your water up to + 427% (38.0mg/L) when using an oxygen concentrator with the UO2 units.

The 22% oxygen found in the air we breathe (ambient air) is thus boosted by replacing 73% Nitrogen of the ambient with pure oxygen. We recommend standard oxygen concentrators that can supply 0-5L/min +-93% pure oxygen continuously over 20hrs of operations. The units come standard with manufactures warrantees and maintenance instructions. The system is an easy plug-play system and very easy to install on its own.

One of these concentrators can supply up to 3 UO2 units with needed oxygen. For 4 to 6 UO2 units we recommend one 0-10L/min oxygen concentrator.

UO2-Plus O3 Option

Ultra-Oxygen Plus Ozone Option

The UO+O3 solution is an EXTRA OVER OPTION should you wish to aggressively treat contaminated water. Due to the ability to supersaturate a liquid with any gas and to be able to transport it in micro and ultrafine bubbles, Ozone can now be used more effectively than ever before, mainly because of the ability to increase the contact time of the gas with impurities. (Up to 30min)

This is most effective in the treatment of stabilized high-strength municipal landfill leachates, the reclamation potential and toxicity reduction of municipal secondary effluents, the removal potential of phytoplanktons from surface waters, and the removal of cyanobacteria species, which are considered responsible for cyanotoxin releases in drinking water supplies. Ozone is also an effective sanitizing agent against a broad spectrum of pathogenic and spoilage organisms.

Examples of application:
Ozonation of stabilized landfill leachates using 8.3 mg O3/L resulted in a significant reduction of color after 120 min of ozonation time, while organic matter removal (in terms of COD) reached 81% after 240 min of ozonation time. The ozone dose was the major factor affecting the disinfection process of secondary effluents; the ozone dose of 8.2 mg/L resulted in the complete removal of pathogenic bacteria after 5 min of ozonation time.

Soaking peeled shrimp meat in water with 3 ppm dO3 for 60 s resulted in the highest reduction of spoilage bacteria of the treatments studied, and will have a positive effect on product quality and shelf life during
storage and Listeria destruction.

Our un-sophisticated systems are capable of removing both particulate and dissolved organic wastes to maintain healthy fish in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). The solutions involve establishing adequate dissolved oxygen levels, removal of solid wastes, ensuring sufficient ammonia nitrification, and also for fish sensorial quality, i.e., removal off-flavors from 2-methylisoborneol (MIB) and geosmin from water.
